Get Doris is operated by The Caper Web Solutions Limited, a New Zealand company. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it in plain English because we'd rather you actually read it.

We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you have a question this page doesn't answer, email us at hello@getdoris.ai and a human will reply.

What we collect, and why

If you visit our website: We use cookies and tracking tools (including the Meta pixel and standard analytics) to understand how people use our site and to show relevant ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This collects technical information such as your device type, pages visited, and rough location. You can limit this through your browser settings or Meta's ad preferences.

If you download a guide or fill in a form: We collect your name and email address so we can send you what you asked for. You'll also receive a short series of related emails from us. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing actually works — one click, no guilt trip, no "are you sure?"

If you book a demo or call: We collect your name, contact details, and information about your business so we can prepare for the conversation and follow up.

If you become a Doris client: We collect the information needed to set up and run your service — your business details, services, pricing, hours, FAQs, and access to the communication channels Doris manages for you (such as your business phone number, social media inboxes, and website chat).

Call recording and transcripts

Doris is an AI receptionist. To do her job, and to keep improving how she does it, calls handled by Doris are recorded and transcribed. We review transcripts to check her accuracy, fix mistakes, and keep her knowledge about each client's business up to date.

If you are a Doris client, you are responsible for making sure your own customers are appropriately informed that calls may be recorded, in line with your obligations under the Privacy Act. We'll help you get this right as part of setup.

If you've called a business that uses Doris and have a question about a recording, contact that business first — they're the holder of that information. If you can't resolve it with them, you can contact us at hello@getdoris.ai.

Where your information is stored

Our services are built on established cloud platforms, including HighLevel, whose servers are located overseas (primarily in the United States). This means your information may be stored and processed outside New Zealand. We only use providers with security practices we're comfortable putting our own business on — which we do.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run Get Doris — our software platforms, payment processing, and communication tools. We do not sell your information to anyone, rent it to anyone, or hand it to third parties for their own marketing. Ever.

We may disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records). If you stop being a client, we'll delete or anonymise your service data within a reasonable period after your account closes — just ask if you'd like that confirmed in writing.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us:

  • what personal information we hold about you,
  • for a copy of it,
  • to correct it if it's wrong, or
  • to delete it where we don't have a genuine reason to keep it.

Email hello@getdoris.ai and we'll respond promptly — within 20 working days at most, as the Act requires, and usually much faster.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Security

We protect personal information with access controls, secure platforms, and common sense — the same standard we apply to our own business information. No system is perfect, but if we ever become aware of a privacy breach that risks serious harm, we'll notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the Act requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we'll tell our clients directly.
